Screening tests available :

•  Presence/absence test: This highly accurate test can be carried out on site and is entirely automated (eliminating the risk of incorrect results caused by human error). It uses an immunochemical diagnosis technique to conduct a qualitative search for drugs, toxics and metabolites present in urine, with concentrations greater than the thresholds defined for each type of substance detected. Presumptive results can be obtained very rapidly and if positive prove recent drug usage. Individuals can be informed of the results of the test immediately.

• Confirmation test: This test is performed to confirm a positive presence/absence test. This highly accurate procedure detects the presence of various substances in urine, including that of medications causing false positives. This test uses gas chromatography – mass spectrometry (GC/MS) techniques and the specimen sent for analysis to the laboratory must therefore be sealed.

•  Hair follicle test: This test provides greater detection and long-term information on drug, toxic and medication usage (over several weeks, and even several months), and on the drug use trend (increasing, stable or decreasing).
